Serve as a mentor to staff and provide stability and leadership within a thriving veterinarian hospital in Staten Island, New York as a Medical Director.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, compassionate, success-minded, client-focused leader with five years or more experience in veterinary medicine to fulfill this exciting role and take the practice to a greater level of success!

The Role Essential Responsibilities

  • Supporting DVMs to develop an understanding and best practices of how behaviors impact revenue.
  • Provide DVM’s one-on-one development supporting quarterly production, reviewing production performance, and coaching for improvement.
  • Work with the Hospital manager on weekly priorities and expectations
  • Meet regularly with the hospital manager to review controllable costs: DVM and Support Payroll Inventory.
  • Work in collaboration with the hospital manager to maintain and build our relationships with the referring community.
  • Evaluate and monitor protocols for daily running/flow of the hospital from intake to discharge. 
  • Play a significant part in the decision-making process and implementation of any new initiatives within their hospital.

Client Focus Responsibilities 

  • Medical Director providing clinical, surgical, and specialty responsibilities (60-80% of the time)
  • Examine, diagnoses, and treats animal surgically or medically.
  • Operate medical equipment.
  • Client communication about care, medical conditions, and treatments 
  • Prescribe medication.
